TJ4200 USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
There are two different parts:
1) Clamps for 3,000 pounds and 2) Lift Feet for 12,000 pounds
The Tombstone Jack™ is a purpose-built solution that empowers communities to restore and maintain cemetery gravestones safely and effectively. Our system uses four highly-engineered clamps with 4-inch square rubber pads. By applying 100 foot-pounds of torque, the system generates an impressive 10,000 pounds of clamping force, allowing safe lifting of monuments weighing up to 3,000 pounds. Clamp N Lift – up to 3,000 pounds. Granite weighs up to 175 pounds per cubic foot. For heavier monuments, our lift feet increase capacity to safely handle up to 12,000 pounds.
Not all lifts will require a wood pad to be under the Jacks, but the ground can be soft, which may cause the Jacks to be pushed into the ground while lifting a monument. We suggest that you have some good ¾” plywood pads – 8” x 12” up to 12” x 12” (spread the load) For your many projects, an assortment of 1”x 4” and 2”x 4” lumber in various lengths will help you customize a safe and productive work environment.
The Clamp N Lift rubber pads are super grippy and also replaceable, but if you take care of them you should never need to replace them. If you need to lift a rough-cut monument we suggest that you remove the rubber pads and replace them with 4”x 4” x 1- 1 ½” thick wood such as you might cut from a 2”x 6” board – install these in the special clamp brackets with the same screws that hold the rubber pads, and you are good to go.
This system is designed for both practicality and durability. Once a monument is lifted, fresh washed ¾-inch minus gravel is placed underneath to ensure proper leveling and drainage. Unlike cement, gravel provides a long-term, adaptable solution, allowing for future adjustments without creating additional challenges. This method ensures stability while accommodating the natural settling of the ground over time.
The unit comes standard with a 2” safety strap. Securely wrap around the monument and the 4-lift feet, now ratchet tight to ensure a safe and solid lift. If there are cracks in the foundation where you desire to lift or clamp and lift, inspect and consider lifting in a different place so you will not damage the monument and further cause potential safety issues in the process.
The organizing kit (optional) attaches to YOUR wagon with 6 – 3/8” bolts, washers, and nuts. Mention it to your salesguy if you want this.

The cowboy pry bar system includes a 6” wide blade on the pry bar and 7’ overall length, a fulcrum channel with 4 different adjustments, a Slide hammer/post pounder to drive the blade down and under the monument, a foot stirrup (hence the name Cow Boy!)and climbing rope with a climber one way pulley to assist leverage. Use your foot, with your hands free to slide a long 2-by-4 under the monument and now you are ready to pour in the gravel to level.
This massive 32 pound pry bar is engineered for heavy monument work. Its 1.25″ diameter and 7′ length provide strength, while the welded blade—measuring 1/2” thick by 6″ wide with a 45-degree machined knife edge—requires less pounding pressure to penetrate soil beneath monuments. The 6″ width ensures sufficient integrity for lifting and prevents nicking the monument’s bottom corners. The tan almond powder coating enhances visibility and, by reflecting sunlight, keeps the tool cooler for more comfortable handling on hot days.
INSTRUCTIONS:
The slide hammer: Place the pry bar at the low side base of the monument with the sharp portion of the blade against the monument, then take the slide hammer – slide up and down hard against the end of the bar thus driving it down and under the monument in a most positive and safe manner, the bend in the 6” wide blade is meant to ensure push against the blade and monument as it drives downward, once the blade clears the edge of the monument the earth is softer that the monument and this [bend] will cause a natural capacity to push under the bottom corner edge of the monument – you only need an inch and you are safely ready to lift the monument.
Use of the slide hammer and the included bolt can extend the length of the bar system from 7’ to 9’. Use of the stirrup with the rope and one way ascender/pulley provides hands free prying with the use of your foot in the stirrup. As you push down, the monument is lifted, now take an 8’ long wood 2″ x 4″ and slide it under the monument to sit on. If you need to go higher yet, simply get another bite utilizing the included fulcrum king plate and 5/8” detent pin, slide another board under the monument, and then you can install gravel for your new foundation.
